Climate Green Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 99 655 010 307), trading as Climate Green Energy (“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, and how you can access it, correct it or make a complaint.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What information we collect
We collect personal information that you give us directly when you enquire about our services, request a quote, or check your eligibility for a government rebate. This typically includes:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- The address of the property the work relates to
- Whether you own or rent the property
- Details of your existing hot water, heating, cooling, solar or insulation systems
- Information needed to assess your eligibility for the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program or other rebate or incentive schemes
- Any other details you choose to give us in a message, phone call or site visit
Where a rebate program requires it, we may also collect concession card details or proof of ownership or tenancy. We only collect this where the program's rules require it, and only with your knowledge.
How we collect it
- Forms on this website
- Lead forms on Facebook and Instagram (Meta Platforms) — if you submit one of our ads' contact forms, Meta passes the details you entered to us
- Phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp and email
- In person, during a site assessment or installation
- From a referrer, where someone refers you to us with your consent
Lead forms on social media. When you complete one of our contact forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects your responses and makes them available to us. Meta's own handling of your information is governed by Meta's privacy policy, not ours. Once we receive your details, this policy applies.
2. Why we collect and use it
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
- Assess whether your property and existing system qualify for the VEU program or another rebate
- Arrange and carry out a site assessment, supply and installation
- Meet our obligations under the VEU program and other regulated schemes, including record-keeping and audit requirements
- Arrange warranty, service and follow-up work
- Issue invoices and process payments
- Send you information about our services, where you have not opted out
- Improve our services and respond to complaints
If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote accurately, confirm your eligibility for a rebate, or complete an installation.
3. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Installers and subcontractors engaged to carry out the assessment or installation at your property
- Accredited Persons and Accredited Providers under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, where your upgrade is being claimed under that scheme
- The Essential Services Commission and program administrators or auditors, where required for VEU compliance, verification or audit
- Product suppliers and manufacturers, for warranty registration and product supply
- Our service providers — including IT, data storage, CRM, accounting and communications providers — who are bound to protect your information
- Government bodies, regulators or law enforcement, where we are required or authorised by law
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for another organisation's marketing purposes.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
4. Marketing and how to opt out
If you have enquired with us, we may contact you about our services, seasonal offers or changes to rebate programs. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to an SMS, or contacting us using the details below. We will action your request promptly and at no cost to you.
Opting out of marketing does not stop us contacting you about a job already in progress.
5. How we store and protect it
We store personal information in secure electronic systems and, where applicable, in paper records. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, secure passwords and restricting access to staff who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take our obligations seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us over the internet.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for as long as we are required to by law. Records relating to a VEU upgrade are retained for the period required by the program's rules and applicable Victorian legislation. When we no longer need your information and are not required to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
6. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the site. We may also use analytics and advertising tools provided by third parties, including Meta, to measure the performance of our advertising.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
7. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below.
We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first. In limited circumstances we may refuse access — if we do, we will tell you why in writing.
8. Complaints
